A Glimpse into our “Sweat n’ Sculpt” Class

Sweat n’ Sculpt is a FLOWGA original - a hot, dynamic, and challenging conditioning class that makes you feel like you have left a part of your soul on the mat and ready to start anew when it is all said and done. It’s that intense, but in the most rewarding way.

A class created at FLOWGA for FLOWGA, it is an experience that you can get at Hong Kong’s first and only beat bumping hot yoga studio. While most of FLOWGA’s classes can provide the strength and conditioning you may look for in a power yoga class, we wanted to give a little more - a practice that challenges parts of your body that are often overlooked in a traditional practice - where most power comes from press and push, less overhead and pulls.

Using BALA’s signature design 3lb bar, Sweat n Sculpt incorporates elements of flow, strength and conditioning, and pilates for a full-body workout. You will see modified versions of Sun Salutations, targeted strength building for arm balancing, strong glutes movements for pelvic stabilisation, and movements that will complement and enhance the way you practice your version of yoga.

All of this is paired with the best beats to keep your blood flowing and your energy flying high. You’ll be scrapped to choose between the workout or to throw your hands up for a dance party. Fear not if you feel intimidated by hand weights - all movements in the class can also be done without the BALA bars, making this session inclusive for all levels.

“Sculpt is my favorite class that Flowga offers. I would go so far as to say that it’s the best workout class I’ve ever experienced! It strikes the perfect balance between toning, cardio, and stretching. I leave the studio feeling like a new person!” - Lucida Ng

What we love about incorporating hand weights with this class is that we add oomph to our poses, so when we translate these movements back into an asana practice, our bodies can hold with greater strength and stability. Imagine adding an overhead shoulder press while in Warrior 1 with a weight in each hand - this single movement can suddenly intensify and strengthen through the shoulders, legs, core, and upper back. After a few Sculpt practices, we promise you’ll magically stand stronger, taller, and more grounded the next time you take any of our flow classes.

Sweat n’ Sculpt is offered three times a week - Wednesday at 1230pm, Thursday at 530pm, and Friday at 1030am. Due to the nature of the class requiring more attention and visibility to the teaching mat, the class is capped at 18. As one of the most popular hot classes offered at FLOWGA, make sure you sign up early on MBO to secure your mat.
